Choro-Mage is a game created by Anne McCranie, Joseph Dylan Gillespie, and Steffan Lim for our senior game design project at Kennesaw State University. This post marks the beginning of our second semester working on this project and will summarize where we are in development.
Choro-Mage is a fantasy RPG with an isometric camera view. It is set in a world with magic based on the elements fire, water, air, earth, and additionally life. The player is a wizard who is just learning magic and gradually becomes more powerful throughout the game learning new spells. This game will have a quest line with a story as well as side quests from various characters.
At this current point in development we have implemented the following:
basic movement and camera system
basic inventory / loot system
5 spells (1 for each element)
a basic dialog system
basic menu's setup
basic enemy AI
1 quest
a partially filled environment
That is a long way of saying that we made the foundation to our game in the first semester.
Overall we made the foundation to our game in the first semester.
However, for this semester we plan to do the following:
Make a polished fully filled environment
Create several new spells
Create an unlock system to upgrade your current spells
Make a world generation system
Create a story that the player experiences through quests
Merchants for buying / selling items
Below you can find screenshots of our game in its current state.
